Circana: US physical PS5 game sales weak as Sony ends disc support in 2028
Sony has announced it will end support for physical PlayStation discs in 2028. Circana data shows only two PlayStation games sold more than 10,000 physical units in the US the week ending July 11, 2026, and just seven titles have topped 100,000 so far in 2026. Analysts note a long-term decline in physical game spending and say petitions or comments are unlikely to change manufacturer decisions.
