Call of Duty movie recalls Activision’s 2011 celebrity multimedia push
A Call of Duty movie set in the Modern Warfare universe has been announced. It calls to mind Activision’s 2011 Call of Duty Elite era, a $50/year subscription service that bundled DLC and social features. Elite also commissioned three celebrity video series — a Ridley/Tony Scott game-show, a Will Arnett–Jason Bateman comedy short, and an Andrew Santino project — with one show tied to a charity.
