HLTV reports G2 has announced the departure of Álvaro "SunPayus" García. The outlet says SunPayus had spent the previous three months on the bench after Artem "r1nkle" Moroz replaced him in June. HLTV also reports it is widely expected that SunPayus will join FUT as a replacement for AWPer Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov. SunPayus's 14-month stint at G2 began in July 2025 as the long-term replacement for Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov and included a BLAST Open London 2025 win early in his time with the team, though HLTV notes inconsistent results and community criticism despite solid statistical performance outside the game's top elite AWPers.
