Paralives' early access success supports long-term free DLC model
Paralives launched in early access in May and has been well received for its cozy life-sim gameplay. The 15-person developer, funded by Patreon and without outside investors, says early sales make a free updates and DLC plan viable for the game's lifespan. Several free content drops, including an Unpacking collaboration, have already been released. The approach is compared to No Man's Sky’s long-term free expansion strategy.
