WoW Moonguard hit by contagious dungeon disease, patched after hours
A disease from the Dragonflight dungeon Brackenhide Hollow spread across the Moonguard server over the weekend after a player carried the Withering Contagion into populated areas. Low-level characters died and larger cities including Silvermoon and Stormwind saw widespread infections before Blizzard deployed a July 3 hotfix to stop it. Players are calling the incident “Corrupted Blood 2.0,” recalling a similar 2005 outbreak. The contagion spread via a five-yard damage-over-time effect tied to the dungeon spell.
