Chosen, the parent company of Nexus Mods, has acquired SteamDB after its founder Pavel “xPaw” Djundik sought a successor because single-person maintenance became unsustainable. xPaw will remain involved during a handover while Chosen's larger team assumes development and infrastructure responsibilities. SteamDB will keep its name, website, browser extension, Discord, Steam group, and current free features; Nexus Mods accounts will not be required and the two services will remain separate. The change shifts upkeep from an individual developer to a company-backed team, addressing sustainability and future development capacity.
