Mortal Shell 2 patch refunds Glimpses, boosts gold drops and nerfs bosses
Cold Symmetry released Mortal Shell 2 on August 20 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and issued Balance Patch 1 within a day to address major progression and economy problems. The patch refunds Glimpses spent to reveal shell locations, changes shell maps to cost Gloom instead, restores several enemies to their beta HP values, and significantly increases gold drops—especially in the second zone. Patch 1 also buffs tarstones and weapons, reduces smelting costs, fixes crashes and other bugs, and is available now on PC with console updates arriving shortly.
- Balance Patch 1 arrived within a day of Mortal Shell 2’s August 20 launch; the patch is live on PC now and will reach PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S shortly.
- Players receive refunds of Glimpses spent to discover shell locations; shell maps now purchase with Gloom instead of that rare currency.
- Enemies that appeared in the beta have been reverted to their beta HP values, and enemy gold drops were significantly increased—most notably in the game’s second zone to better support weapon upgrades.
- Patch 1 also applies buffs to tarstones and weapons, lowers the cost to unlevel weapons via smelting, and includes crash and bug fixes.
