Genki Manta controller launches on Kickstarter with onboard Manta OS and touchscreen
Genki (Human Things) launched the Manta pro controller on Kickstarter, featuring a 2.79-inch color touchscreen beneath the thumbsticks running a custom Manta OS. The onboard OS and display enable on-the-fly tuning of tri-stage triggers, dead zones, haptics, button remapping and the ability to load small apps without a separate device. The controller targets high-performance play with TMR joysticks, Hall-effect triggers, wired polling to 8,000 Hz, 2.4 GHz wireless at 1,000 Hz, Bluetooth LE 6 with more than 150 hours battery life, and dedicated paddles and extra buttons.
- Kickstarter launch by LA-based Human Things’ Genki division; Manta OS runs on a 2.79-inch color touchscreen under the thumbsticks and provides onboard customization and app loading to 16 MB internal storage.
- Performance specs: wired polling up to 8,000 Hz, 2.4 GHz wireless at 1,000 Hz, Bluetooth LE 6 with over 150 hours battery life and a range exceeding 10 meters.
- Physical features: TMR joysticks, Hall-effect tri-stage triggers, four bottom paddles and two extra bumper-side buttons; all inputs are remappable and the pad includes a toggle to switch to keyboard-and-mouse controls.
- Kickstarter campaign lists expandable storage as a potential stretch goal; Genki has a track record of successful Kickstarters and prior well-received products such as the Genki dock.
