Riot to end active development of 2XKO; servers stay online and refunds offered
Riot Games will cease active development of its fighting game 2XKO at the end of 2026 after failing to reach sustainable player retention. Online servers will remain available and the game will be playable offline while new content, including two fighters, plus bug fixes and feature improvements will continue through the rest of the year with a final bug-fix patch in December. All fighters are being unlocked and purchases made on or before August 20 will be refunded. Riot cut roughly 80 developers six months earlier when the project’s momentum fell short of supporting the team.
