Chromite in Palworld: find it on Feybreak Island with a Metal Detector or Smokie

Chromite spawns underground on Feybreak Island just south of Mount Obsidian and can only be revealed with a Metal Detector or the Smokie pal's partner skill. The Metal Detector auto-scans nearby soil as you explore; Smokie's detection requires crafting and equipping a Smokie's Harness and improving the skill with a Pal Essence Condenser. When Chromite is found a rocky node with a blue beacon appears and must be mined with a pickaxe. Players can also set up a passive Chromite supply by breeding Smokies at a Breeding Farm and hatching their eggs.

• Chromite spawn location: underground on Feybreak Island, south of Mount Obsidian; nodes appear as rocky outcrops highlighted by a blue beacon when detected.
• Metal Detector: unlocks at Level 58 on the tech tree and requires 30 Plasteel, 100 Paldium Fragments, 15 Computers and 20 Nightstar Sand; it automatically scans soil while equipped.
• Smokie detection method: catch a wild Smokie, craft and equip Smokie's Harness (Level 58 tech tree) and improve the detection skill with a Pal Essence Condenser; the partner skill is activated repeatedly with the E key while walking.
• Passive farm: catch one male and one female Smokie, place them in a Breeding Farm with regular Cake (use Vegetable Cakes to double egg output) and hatch the resulting Smokie eggs for a continuous source of detectors.
