Kingdom Hearts 4 set for late 2027; Coco world and Disney TV anime announced
Square Enix and Disney set Kingdom Hearts 4 for late 2027 and confirmed release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. D23 2026 revealed Coco as the first new Disney world, playable Mickey content, a new Build system and expanded movement/transformation abilities in combat. The story opens with Sora trapped in Quadratum while Donald and Goofy search the Underworld, and Disney is producing a separate Kingdom Hearts anime for Disney Channel and Disney+ with Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix involved.
- Release window: Kingdom Hearts 4 is scheduled for late 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
- First confirmed world: Coco is the inaugural new Disney world, with Miguel and Héctor joining Sora in the Land of the Dead.
