Modders built Elsweyr for Oblivion, bringing Khajiit homeland into the game
Fan modders recreated the Khajiit homeland Elsweyr as playable content for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, adding new regions and quest content. One notable project, Elsweyr: The Deserts of Anequina, was released on Nexus Mods in June 2009 by modder Iliana with dozens of contributors. The mods assemble Khajiit lore from in-game tomes and dialogue, add a Khajiit-focused guild and thief-style quests, and supply new NPC interactions inside Oblivion. This work fills a gap left by official releases, since Elsweyr appeared in Arena and only returned in an Elder Scrolls Online expansion in 2019.
- Elsweyr: The Deserts of Anequina was published on Nexus Mods in June 2009 by user Iliana with contributions from dozens of other modders.
- Modders used scattered Khajiit lore from in-game books and NPC dialogue to design the Elsweyr territory for Oblivion.
- Fan-made Elsweyr content adds a Khajiit-focused guild and new thief-style quest opportunities that let players experience Khajiit roles within Oblivion.
- Elsweyr had not appeared in a major Elder Scrolls single-player title since Arena and only returned officially in a 2019 Elder Scrolls Online expansion, so modders filled the absence.
