Aspyr re-releases 2011's War in the North on modern consoles with co-op for $20
Aspyr Media, owned by Embracer, has released a Legacy Edition of The Lord of the Rings: War in the North today on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC, priced $20 ($18 through Aug. 25). The updated edition adds online and local split-screen co-op and advertises "optimized" solo play while bringing the 2011 action-RPG to current-generation systems. The original game was developed by Snowblind Studios and features three swappable playable characters, iconic Middle-earth locations and characters, and the ability to call the eagle Beleram. Embracer is pursuing a wider revival of Lord of the Rings games, with Warhorse and Crystal Dynamics confirmed to be developing new LOTR RPGs.
